What's Cooking at Nourish?

Slow cooker recipe development underway

Nourish staff have been busy creating, testing and photographing eleven delicious slow cooker recipes. Later this month, thirty families will receive slow cookers, ingredients (from a local vendor!) and recipe cards to cook up delicious meals at home. Building the knowledge, skills and attitudes to choose, prepare and enjoy healthy food are important parts of supporting the health and well-being of children and youth.

The recipes and accompanying resources will be launched on our website for Nutrition Month (March). If your community group or club would be interested in using these resources for your next cooking program, please get in touch! We would be happy to help set you up with necessary planning tools, ingredient lists and more.

This project is funded through Community, Culture and Heritage and is in partnership with Tri-County Regional Centre for Education. Thank you to the Christ Church in Dartmouth for generously providing the space for recipe testing. Thank you to Margaret’s House for serving our large batch recipes.

Happy cooking!
