Q: Tell us more about your role and work with the Coalition for Healthy School Food.

As the Coordinator of the NS-CHSF, I work with stakeholders in NS and across Canada who are advocating for a Canada-wide cost shared healthy school food program. Canada is the only G7 Country without a federal investment in school food, but we are getting closer! We are advocating for a flexible and locally adaptable program that will enhance existing school food programs and would be universally accessible by all students.

Q: What drew you to get involved with Nourish?

I've had the privilege of working in collaboration with Nourish through my previous roles in Public Health at the local and provincial levels, so I was very familiar with this amazing organization. I am passionate about advocacy work, so this role is the perfect fit!

Q: What is your favourite part of working with Nourish?

Nourish has such a strong, kind & capable team who are committed to doing work that really matters and makes a difference in our communities!

Q: How can folks get involved to support the push for a universal school food program for Canada?

If you want speak up for school food, there are lots of ways to get involved. Whether you're a passionate individual, part of a school community or non-profit organization, we need your support! Visit our Nova Scotia Coalition page for more information, or reach out to me directly: lindsay.corbin@nourishns.ca

Q: Last question: if you could compete in any Olympic sport, what would it be?

Definitely basketball! Love that sport.
