My name is Trina Elliott and I am very excited to have joined the Nourish Nova Scotia team in the Office Administrator role.
My background is in recreation management and I am looking forward to bringing my experience with children and youth to Nourish. I have facilitated a variety of programs and workshops on healthy living for children and youth, and value the importance of healthy food and physical activity. Through my past work I was awarded the United Way Bhayana Family Foundation Awards for my involvement with youth through Global Tour. Global Tour is a tour for youth entering senior high schools to learn about the communities that feed into their new school, reduce stigma, and to help them with the transition into High School. I have volunteered in schools through School Advisory Councils, Parent Teacher Organizations and breakfast programs. I enjoy spending my spare time with my daughters, trying new recipes and getting active outdoors.
I am looking forward to learning more about Nourish Nova Scotia, it’s role in creating healthy school food environments, and making a positive impact on children and youth in Nova Scotia. Initiatives and events like the Brown Bag Challenge, the Blue Nose Charity Challenge and ReelTalk are very exciting opportunities that I am looking forward to being involved in and promoting.
