Give the Gift that Keeps on Giving

With the holidays around the corner, some of you may be thinking about making a meaningful donation to a local charity. What if we told you that you could make a positive impact on kids in Nova Scotia all through the year - even for the rest of their lives? With Nourish Nova Scotia as your charity of choice, you can.

We make a lot happen with a little. Whether it’s a one-time,

monthly, or memorial gift, or a United Way payroll deduction -

every dollar truly does count!

Is someone on your list hard to buy for? Leave it to us! Make a  donation in their name and we’ll send them a personalized holiday e-card.

  • Supported schools to serve over 6.3 million meals across Nova Scotia to help nourish kids so they are better able to learn

  • Through the Nourish Your Roots farm to school fundraiser, supported schools to raise $113,000 for their school food programs, helping local farmers too.

  • Mobilized thousands of Nova Scotians in the #SpeakUp4SchoolFood campaign, sending 16,000 postcards to MPs, getting Canada closer to joining the rest of the G7 countries in having a national school food program

… and much, much more!

This work is thanks to donations big and small, like yours.

Want to know more about our Programs?

We currently have 2 province-wide: SHEP and Nourish Your Roots. School Healthy Eating Programs (SHEP) support students’ health and nutritional wellbeing. Nourish Your Roots, a farm-to-school fundraiser, helps schools and non-profit child care centres support their own healthy eating programs and initiatives. We have a third program underway that is pilot ready: Grow Eat Learn. This school food garden program teaches essential skills for student success and well-being.

We also develop food literacy resources in support of each program area to help kids build skills for a healthy future.

Thanks to contributions like yours, children in Nova Scotia are eating, enjoying, and valuing healthy food all year long. Click HERE to give.

Happy holidays from Nourish Nova Scotia!
