Opportunities for Youth
Youth must play a role in creating a healthy, just, and resilient food system that benefits them and their futures. Let’s shape it together!
Are you a young person in Nova Scotia who’s passionate about food and ready to take action?
Are you a young person in Nova Scotia who’s passionate about food and ready to take action? Whether it’s getting your friends together to cook a meal, starting a garden club at your school, writing campaign letters, or a video project to share your food story – we’re always looking for new ways to support young people in bringing their food dreams to life.
Below you’ll find ways that you can get involved, but if you’ve got your own idea for a food project but need help to kickstart it, maybe we can help!

Garden Climate Action Training Camp
Gardening can be a real way to take climate action, and this FREE online camp is all about helping you build the skills and confidence to make a difference in your community. You’ll connect with other youth from across the province in a fun, virtual space where you can share ideas, learn together, and get inspired.
Through interactive sessions, you’ll explore things like soil and water care, growing and cooking food, creating habitats for pollinators, and how gardening connects to climate justice. By the end, you’ll have practical tools to start your own projects—and be part of a community of young changemakers who keep learning and taking action even after the camp ends.
