What drew you to get involved with Nourish Nova Scotia?

What drew me to Nourish Nova Scotia is how real and meaningful the work feels. Making sure kids and youth have experiences with food is something I truly care about, and I’m inspired by the impact Nourish has in schools and communities across the province. It feels good to be part of a team that’s making a difference every day and supporting youth well-being in such a tangible way.

How has your experience with Nourish impacted you personally?

Working with Nourish Nova Scotia has been rewarding; it’s shown me how important learning about food is for young people and how much of a difference a passionate, supportive team can make.

How do you see young people helping to influence food systems today?

I see young people playing a huge role in shaping food systems today. They’re asking important questions about where food comes from, how it’s grown, and how it affects the environment and communities. By speaking up, making thoughtful choices, and getting involved in schools and community programs, young people are helping create healthier, more sustainable, and more equitable food systems for everyone.

What was your biggest take-away from your time at Nourish Nova Scotia?

My biggest take away from my time at Nourish Nova Scotia is seeing how much of a difference access to nourishing food can make for young people. Being part of this work has really shown me the importance of community, collaboration, and showing up consistently for kids. It’s been rewarding to see how small efforts can make a big impact when everyone works towards the same goal.
