Nourish Nova Scotia provides funding for youth-led and youth-focused food initiatives across Nova Scotia. We also partner with Provincial and National organizations to share funding opportunities that align with our program areas.

Grow Eat Learn School Garden Infrastructure Grants

To support school-based growing projects over the 2025 growing season, with the help of the Province of Nova Scotia, Nourish Nova Scotia is offering School Garden Infrastructure Grants. The grant aims to help support both new and existing gardens.

Application deadline: June 10th, 2025

Indigenous Foodways in Schools Grants

Farm to Cafeteria Canada is offering grants in the range of $500 – $20,000 to Indigenous school communities throughout Canada. Funding aims to support long-term community visions of Indigenous food security and food sovereignty that are implemented in the school setting. Applications are being accepted online from February 3rd to March 28th, 2025.

Youth Food Fund (2024)

The Nourish Youth Food Fund was a one-time funding opportunity aimed at supporting youth leadership in food access & literacy initiatives across Nova Scotia. Between August and November 2024, the Youth Food Fund provided support for 52 youth-led or youth-focused food initiatives totaling $206,212.00. Funded projects were located across all regions of Nova Scotia and included school groups, community organizations, and Mi’kmaw communities.
