Spotlight: Tatamagouche Farmers' Market
Contributed by: Sarah (Nourish Volunteer)
Tatamagouche Farmers’ Market at Creamery Square provides a vibrant indoor and outdoor location to support local farmers, artisans, crafters and entrepreneurs, which sees over 25,000 visitors a year. Warm in the winter and cooled by the beautiful Waugh River in the summer, everyone looks forward to a Saturday at the “Tata Market” from April to December.
The market boasts an array of seasonal vegetables, fruits, berries, delicious fresh baked goods and prepared foods, meats, soaps, flowers, herbs, seedlings, eggs, honey, beeswax products, maple syrup products, local handmade crafts and more.
Tata Tips
Find seasonal treasures such as Swiss chard, beet greens, and kale.
Snag a seat at the outdoor eating area overlooking the water to enjoy a tasty treat or beverage from Blueberry’s Cafe while taking in the spectacular view of the Waugh River.
Be sure to save some time to check out the Creamery Square Heritage Centre.
Stroll on the breathtaking Butter Trail, part of the Trans Canada Trail that was named after the Tatamagouche Creamery where fresh local butter was made. The trail runs through the Creamery Square property, including views of Tatamagouche Bay and bridges over the French and Waugh rivers.
