Learning in The Garden
Oldfield Consolidated Elementary used our school garden as a way for our Cross Age Buddies to work together to learn new skills. Older students partnered up with younger students to plant seeds. The seeds were kept in the lower elementary classroom so the younger students could make observations as they grew. Older students then transplanted the seedlings to our school garden where our whole school had the benefit of watching them grow. This process came full circle as the younger students once again used our garden for making observations and taking notes of the changes in the plants from when they left in June to when they came back in September.
